Andrew Reynolds- IBM’s Metaverse Evangelist

Andrew (Roo) Reynolds is a Metaverse Evangelist which is based at IBM’s Hursley Park laboratory, UK. He enjoys to explore, create and discover in the metaverse which is the Second Life, uploading different photos to Flickr, keeping his and adding bookmarks on del.icio.us., keep on updating his Last.fm playlist in which he enjoys listening to his favorite music tracking his location on Plazes and what he is doing on Twitter, as well as indulging in any number of other bleeding-edge alpha geek social software type activities.

Andrew was a part of the team in which he facilitates with the use of the Virtual World within IBM. And he is enjoying in his work where he is very thankful to a large community who are learning, collaborate and accomplish things in totally new and different ways. He worked in assisting the problems of the customers like giving innovative solutions. Andrew Reynolds wrote a pervasive messaging solution, complete with a mobile application, to help information exchange between different lines of business at a major bank. Andrew also gives some presentations about Second Life. He was also able to work on a mobile telco in the UK in which he investigate marketing and commercial exploitations of Virtual Worlds.

Mr Reynolds was before an Emerging Technologies Specialist in which one of his task is attempting to keep on the early-adopter curve. Although he is considered as an expert, Andrew still managed to write and read a lot of different blogs.

Andrew Reynolds is an expert in the following fields: Emerging Technology, Web 2.0, internet, social networking, user generated content, metaverse, virtual worlds, Second Life, blogs, ambient technology, Java, J2EE, servlets, Eclipse, pervasive messaging, telemetry, middleware, publish/subscribe messaging and JMS.

Andrew is a Software Engineer and he was able to on this following:

2003 – 2006- MicroBroker development, IBM Pervasive Messaging:
Lead developer in the Pervasive Messaging Technologies team. He was the technical point of contact for the other software labs. And also he is a representative of IBM on Floodnet project.

2001 – 2003-IBM Business Integration for Games:
Significant involvement with the design and architecture of IBM’s Business Integration for Games solution, owning and designing the ‘process broker’ server component.

1998 – 2001- IBM WebSphere MQ Everyplace:
He contributed to the on-time delivery of WebSphere MQe 1.0 in a test role. Joined MQe level 3 services. Andrew also presented at several customer conferences on MQe and pervasive messaging, including the Solutions Developer Conference (San Francisco), WebSphere conference (Athens), Share (Nashville), Share, (Minneapolis), Inner Circle (San Francisco).
